My three career choices are Perioperative Nurse, Diabetes Nurse, and Pediatric Oncology Nurse. All of the nurses listed above have to be a Registered Nurse before they can specialize in any of these fields. Each of these nurses have different job duties some of their job duties are different and some are similar. Each of these nurses specialize in a certain job area and their patients vary as far as the patients treatments are concerned.
Prioperative Nurses work in hospital surgical departments, day surgery units, clinics, and physicians offices. Periospective Nurses work closely with surgeon, the surgical patient, family members of the patient, and other health care professionals. Perioperative Nurses work with other health care professionals to help plan, implement, and evaluate patient treatment. Neither Diabetes Management Nurser or Pediatric Nurses work closely with a surgeon. Periospective nurses, Diabetes nurses, and Pediatric nurses all work with family members. These nurses talk to family members and tell them how they can help the patients health improve.
An Diabetes Management Nurses work closely with physicians, pharmacists, and other health care professionals. These nurses provide patients with advice on diet and exercise as well as advice on injections and medication. Diabetes Management Nurse also monitor blood glucose levels. Some are their common workplaces are children's hospitals, community centers, nursing homes, and large hospitals. All three of these nurses are able to work in a hospital and advice patient treatment and medications.
An Pediatric Oncology nurse works with infants, children and adolescents. These nurses perform physical exams, manages conditions such as asthma, eczema, diabetes, eczema, and allergies. Pediatric nurses refer children to other health care professionals if necessary. Diabetes Management nurses and Pediatric nurses both work with diabetic patients. The difference between a Pediatric nurse and the other two nurses listed id that a Pediatric Nurse does not work with adults.
In conclusion, all of these nurses have similarities and differences. Their job descriptions vary and their place of work varies as well. Each of these nurses specialize in their field and has to complete training beyond being a registered nurse.

Why did I choose Bryant & Stratton
Before I started college I already had my mind made up about what college would be like. I pictured teachers dishing out assignments that I knew nothing about and moving in a pace that I couldn't keep up with. When I first came to Bryant & Stratton I had very little confidence in myself as far as being a student. I wanted to gain the same confidence as my sister who was finishing her first semester at Bryant & Stratton . My sister told me that Bryant & Stratton had small classes where students can get individual help from friendly professors. There is a resource center where students can get help from professors outside of the classroom. Another reason I decided to attend Bryant & Stratton is because of the ninety three percent job placement rate for students who graduated.
When the time came to make a decision as to where I should attend college I knew that I would need to attend a college where I could get individual help if needed. Sometimes I don't understand a lesson the first time it is explained and if I don't get any help I sometimes get frustrated to the point I give up. My instructors are very hands on and they answer any questions I may have. My confidence as a student has increased because of all the help I have received from my instructors and their words of encouragement.
The resource center is a great place to go to get help and also get a professional opinion on assignments. There are instructors that can help you in any subject in the resource center. Free tutoring is also a great service that a student can receive free of charge. My favorite thing about the resource center is that you can get an instructor to review a paper for you and give you feedback on what you should change to make it better.
The ninety three percent job placement after graduation gave me incentive to do well. The thought of working in the field of my choice soon after graduation made me very excited. This percentage also made me feel confident that Bryant & Stratton really cares about their students success . Overall I feel that I have made an Excellent decision to attend Bryant & Stratton college.

What three careers within your discipline are you most interested in
The medical field is a very interesting field to me because there is always something new to learn. In this field a person can always further their education and move up to the next level of their career. There are so many different career paths to choose from in this field. A person can choose the career that fits best with their personality, and their interest as well. The three careers within my program that I am most interested in is Peri operative Nurse, Diabetes Management Nurse,Pediatric Oncology Nurse.
The preoperative nursing position is interesting to me because the assist the surgeons in this particular position. Working that closely with the surgeon would be a great learning experience. I like the idea of being able to watch surgeries first hand or possibly assisting in saving a patients life. The medical field is a field that a person can always continue to gain knowledge in and working with a surgeon can teach me a lot.
Diabetes Management Nurse is interesting to me because a lot of patients don't take their conditions seriously and I think I could help with that. Sometimes a nurse might not connect with the patient in a way that the patient can understand exactly how they should manage their condition at home. My uncle Jeff died from diabetes and every since I became very interested. At a certain stage of my uncles illness he had to go to dialysis, and because some of the nurses there weren't very nice at times, he wouldn't want to go. If I were to choose this job description I would help patients manage their condition in a polite and professional way and hope it makes a difference in their lives.
Pediatric Oncology Nursing would be the most interesting to me because it involves working with children or adolescents who have cancer. I would love to work with the youth because I believe that this is the most important time to have a positive impact on ones life. Working with children and being a good nurse could possibly change their outlook on fighting this disease or living a healthy and normal life.
In conclusion , there are many career paths you can take in the nursing field that are interesting. I believe that these position can be very rewarding to myself and others. There can be a lot of things that I can learn in any of these fields that could open my mind to other career paths.

My Weaknesses
When I think of my weaknesses I think of the things that I am not good at doing. A weakness is something that I would want to work on and later improve. My weaknesses consist of different characteristics of my personality. I procrastinate on important things, I let my temper take over my better judgement, and I have a hard time pacing myself.
Sometimes I wait to do things at the last minute. A lot of time I tell myself that I have more time to do an assignment than I actually do. In my everyday life I don't get a lot of time to relax and, when I do get time to relax I take advantage of it instead of using valuable time to get work done. This is one of my weaknesses that can effect me being a good student. My goal with this weakness is to complete assignments as soon as possible.
My temper is something that Ive been working on for years and it has been getting better. My goal is to be a nurse and I cannot have a temper in this line of work. I don't want to be known for having a attitude, I want to be known for being a professional and polite person.
Another weakness that I have is that I'm not good at pacing myself when I have a big task. A lot of times I just want to see the outcome of things without building a foundation. My mother always tells me that I have to crawl before I walk,I would be the person who just wants to walk.
In conclusion, my weaknesses are something that can be my strengths in time with hard work and determination. I plan to work on my weaknesses one at a time and find the source of why I have these weaknesses and think of what I can do to improve.

My strengths
When I think of my strengths I think of things that I'm good at doing. My qualities are my strengths. Some of my strengths are I'm smart, responsible, and talented. I often find that I have the same strengths as other people, but what makes unique is how I use them.
I like to say that I am smart because I often see things that others overlook. I look at situations from a lot of different perspectives. Depending on the subject, I catch on to things very quickly. One of my favorite things to do is put pieces together and make a whole. Thinking outside the box is a reason why i feel like being smart is one of my strengths.
Being responsible is another one of my strengths . I try to take full responsibility for my actions whether wrong or right. Over the years people have told me that I'm very responsible and mature for my age . I think that this is a great strengths to have in a working environment . An employer wants to be sure that the employee is going to be accountable for their workload.
I consider me being talented a strength because there are numerous strengths that come with me being talented. I rap in front of large groups of people and i interact with them while I'm performing. I'm very good at speaking in front of people and communicating to get my message understood. Another strength that would fall under my talent is my ability to put words together that rhyme to make a song. I can deliver my words in many different ways and stay on topic at the same time. My talent is my favorite strength because it allows me to be artistic.
In conclusion, there are many strengths a person can have. It is important to know what your strengths are so they can be applied to your life. I believe that I still have strengths that I haven't tapped into yet . This blog topic has definitely opened my mind to possible strengths I may have.

skills life
There are many skills needed for life. Life skills involves being well rounded. What you do at home effects what you do at work. Being well rounded playes a big role in how you view yourself and how others view you. Responsibility is another life skill that is very important . Employers want an employee that is reliable.
Appearance is a skill that I think is very important because your appearance is a reflexion of who you are. A question that people should ask themselves after they get dressed is would they hire someone dressed how they are dressed. It is important to dress appropriate in a bussiness environment.
Good health is a necassary life skill, especially if your responsible for other peoples health. Mental health is necessary when a persons life is in the hands of a professional. Physical health is necessary to perform everyday task without being overwhelmed.

skills career
There are many skills that are necessary for a medical assistant career. Communication is a very important skill that is needed in the medical field. Organization and listening skills are also necessary skills for the medical assistant career.
Communication skills are important so that a medical assistant can communicate with the patient. The patient is very important and the status of his or her health is important as well. This skill is necessary for information to be transferred correctly from the doctor to the medical assistant. Medical assistants also have to communicate with insurance companies for patients prescriptions and other information.
Organization is key to keeping paper work in order and maintain files concerning patients information. I think this is very important because patients information is private and should be put away in the proper place. Organization can make a career less stressful and more of a learning experience.
Interpersonal skills are very important to help you see things from another persons point of view. This skill will come in handy when a patient comes into a doctors office trying to explain their symptoms. Interpersonal skills can help a medical assistant analyze what could be wrong with the patient. Interpersonal skills are also important for group projects.
In conclusion all of these skills are necessary for the medical assistant career and may help a medical assistant perform their job task in a professional manner.
